This practical course combines workplace English with personalised job-search support. It is for adults who want to improve their confidence communicating at work, find employment, change jobs or take the next step in their career. Learners will develop the language, digital skills and practical knowledge needed to navigate the UK workplace and recruitment process. Activities will be adapted to learners’ English levels, previous experience and employment goals.
The course may include:
-Talking about your skills, experience and employment goals
-Searching for suitable job opportunities
-Creating or improving a CV
-Completing online application forms
-Writing personal statements and covering letters
-Understanding job descriptions and workplace documents
-Preparing for interviews and practising answers
-Speaking with colleagues, managers and customers
-Telephone and email communication
-Understanding instructions, rotas, payslips and health and safety language
-Using recruitment websites and developing digital confidence
-Identifying suitable training and volunteering opportunities

Who is it for?
Non-native speakers with low-level English language and literacy skills who would like to improve these to start or return to work, volunteer, reconnect with learning and/or further training.
