Welcome to Educafe’s Education Hub 2026–2027

We are delighted to share that funding has been granted to continue Educafe’s English language, employment and resettlement programmes into the new academic year.

With enormous thanks to West Berkshire Council Adult Community Learning and the West Berkshire Council Migration Team, we are getting ready to welcome back our regular learners and to meet many new members of our community.

Educafe’s Education Hub offers much more than traditional English lessons. Our immersive approach combines language learning with practical support, friendship, confidence-building and opportunities to become more involved in life, learning and work in the UK.

The Educafe Learner Journey

For many learners, the journey begins gently with a friendly welcome at Educafe’s Community Café, Parents’ Village or Chatty Corner.

There is no expectation that someone must immediately complete a form or enter a classroom. The journey often starts with trust, conversation and a sense of belonging.

From there, learners can:

  • – Register and tell us about their interests, needs and future goals
  • – Meet a member of the Education Hub team for an informal assessment
  • – Join the English course that best suits their current level
  •   – Develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
  •   – Review their learning and celebrate their progress
  1.   – Move into higher-level English, employment support, volunteering, further learning or greater independence in the community
  2.

The journey is different for every learner, but the aim is always the same: to help people build the language, confidence, connections and skills they need to thrive.

Begin your journey at Chatty Corner

All new and returning learners are warmly invited to join us at Chatty Corner, Educafe’s welcoming and informal English conversation group.

Chatty Corner is a wonderful place to practise everyday English, meet people, build confidence and become part of the Educafe community. Our friendly volunteers support learners to communicate in a relaxed environment, with no tests and no pressure.

Chatty Corner reopens on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

  • – Every Wednesday during term time

Places are limited, and completing the registration form does not automatically guarantee a place.
