Postnatal Workshop 2023

Parent’s Village is launching its first ever Post-Natal Workshop! The first workshop will be announced soon. The workshop is suitable for women who are 20+weeks pregnant.

It’s time to talk about life after birth. So much importance is placed on the baby that the mother’s postnatal care is often sidelined. It’s time to make sure our maternal care is taken seriously: it’s a sacred time and not about ‘bouncing back’.

Our workshop aims to educate and inform you about the way we act and heal after birth, in the fourth trimester (the first 3 months after birth) and to help support, nurture, and care for the mother through her own healing which will in turn help you learn how to look after a baby.

We’ll get into the nitty-gritty from Mum Rage, PND, bleeding, and breast leaks… all things post-birth that people seem to feel uncomfortable talking about! But also about what healing foods to eat, practical tips around the home, how your partner or support network can be involved, to how you bond with baby and more.

We’ll have experts in the birthing world (a lot of them you’ll know from Parent Village), NHS representatives, and mothers who will give myth-busting advice on how to handle life after birth… All for a fantastic price of £15!

We are super thrilled to announce Emma, a current local midwife, will also be there for the attendees to approach about the care they will have post-birth from the NHS. She’ll be happy to answer any questions about birth choices to make sure that women can move beyond their birth plan and into early motherhood with hopefully less pressure and be more informed. Additionally, Emma has experience in caring for women who have suffered birth trauma and would be there to speak to women confidentially, with ways in which to heal from a past birth, and feel more confident moving into their new birth.

If women can educate themselves more about their choices through birth and into early motherhood, we hope that this confidence will help reduce PND and anxiety.
