At Educafe, weāve spent the past four years doing something simple but radical: creating a space where people feel welcome, seen, and supported. Week after week, our community cafĆ© opens its doors to over 100 visitors from all walks of life. Our Parents Village connects with over 600 families. Word of mouth travels through our close network of volunteers, friends and community partners. Our social platforms and communications channels reach thousands more. We didnāt build this overnight. Itās taken time, care, passion, and skill.Ā

The Challenge: Why Should One Group Carry the Weight?
Weāre often approached by charities, businesses and community groups who want to engage with the diverse, multilingual, and often marginalised communities we serve. And weāre glad – they’re exactly the kind of people who deserve access to support, resources, and opportunities.Ā
But too often, this outreach comes with an assumption: that Educafe will provide access freely, with no recognition of what it costs us to keep our services running reliably and effectively.Ā

To address this, we created the ChangemakerĀ and Friends of Educafe schemes – simple, ethical frameworks for partnership that ensure mutual benefit.Ā

- You (a charity, service provider, or community group) get access to a vibrant, diverse, and engaged audience that aligns with your mission.Ā
- We ask for a small contribution – financial or in-kind – that supports the space you want to connect through.Ā
This is not about monetising relationships. Itās about sustaining the community platform that makes those relationships possible.Ā

Across the UK and globally, organisations like The Advocacy Academy, May Project Gardens, and The Social Change Agency are shifting towards ethical collaboration models.
